Social, Emotional and Mental Health/Behaviour Advisory Service

Woodlands Outreach SEMH/Behaviour Support provides assessment, information, guidance and support to mainstream schools in Shropshire for pupils with needs related to Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH).

Woodlands Outreach SEMH/Behaviour Support Advisory Teachers can provide sessions for any of the following: –

  • Work with individuals or small groups of pupils
  • Undertake rigorous assessments as part of the advisory process and strategies for schools to implement in order to support children
  • Suggest active interventions
  • Provide reports to support Early Help, Annual Reviews and as part of applications for requests for Education, Health and Care Plans
  • Liaise, actively support and advise parents
  • Liaise with other agencies and attend Early Help meetings, provided sufficient notice is given
  • Monitor and review pupils at SEN Support and those with an EHCP
  • Provide training for teaching and all support staff in schools and nurseries
  • Provide training for other agencies
  • Give advice and support for the reintegration and inclusion of pupils
  • Observe whole classes and give strategies to support teachers
  • Support members of school staff in planning appropriate individual or small group sessions for pupils with SEMH/Behaviour needs.
  • Assist schools in the preparation of Pupil Centred Plans
  • Review school behaviour policies/conduct whole school audits
  • Review break and lunchtime policies and routines
  • Assess where learning and behaviour are affecting the progress of the child
